How to Reset Your Sportsbook Account’s Password

Very few people can say that they have gone their entire lives without needing to reset a password. It happens to the best of us, especially with the technology we have today that generally saves passwords so we don’t have to remember them.

If you’ve fallen prey to being logged out of your sportsbook account and you don’t remember your password, we’re here to help. Keep reading to find out how to reset a password for most Nigerian sportsbook accounts.

How Do You Create a Strong Password?

One of the reasons why people forget their password is because they constantly need to be stronger than they had to be in the past. This is necessary because they keep your confidential data private by protecting your personal accounts from illegal access.

The more complicated the password, the less at risk you are from hackers and cyber attacks – or from anybody you know logging into your account manually. To create a strong password, use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.

You should make your password unique and avoid using any previously used passwords or personal information like your birthdate or contact number. You could consider using a short phrase as your password. We also recommend resetting your password every few months.

Reset Your Password: Step by Step

Though the process of resetting your sportsbook password may differ slightly between sites, it generally follows the same process. Here’s a generalised step-by-step guide on how to reset your sports betting account password that works for most sportsbooks available to Nigerian punters.

  1. Go to the login page and click on the option to “reset your password” or “forgot password.” It’s normally below where you would insert your password.
  2. Enter either your username, cell number or email address. This depends on what the sportsbook asks you for and it must always be the same information that reflects in your sportsbook account.
  3. You will then be sent an email with a reset link or a code that you enter on the site to reset your password.
  4. Enter your new password, twice if the sportsbook requires it, and click “continue” or “save.”
  5. You will then either be automatically logged into your account or you will be redirected to the login page where you can sign in using your newly created password.
  6. You can then continue placing bets as per usual.

*Some sportsbooks may require you to contact their customer support team via their live chat feature or through email and request a password reset.

Keep Your Password Safe

Do not write your password down on paper or in a book unless you plan on locking it in a safe. Storing it in a file on your PC is also not a good idea. One of the best ways to protect your passwords is through a password manager tool, as these are designed to store passwords and keep them safe.

If you use the saved passwords function on your PC’s browser, that’s fine, provided that you remember not to delete it as part of clearing your browser history or saved cookies. You should also regularly check that your password has not been exposed.

Wherever you can, you should set up two-factor verification. This ensures that you verify your identity in two different ways before being logged into your account. Some sportsbooks use this method for withdrawals.
